What is the Task Matcher used for?
The Task Matcher automatically and randomly pairs a list of people with a list of tasks. It's often used by roommates dividing household chores, managers distributing daily tasks, or teachers assigning group presentation topics.
What happens if there are more people than tasks (or vice versa)?
The tool handles this intelligently. If there are 5 people and 3 tasks, all 3 tasks will be assigned, and 2 people will get 'lucky' with no assigned task. Alternatively, if there are 3 people and 5 tasks, it will wrap around so everyone gets at least one task, and some may get multiple.
How random is the assignment?
Assignments are completely randomized using industry-standard algorithmic shuffling. Neither the order of entering people nor the order of entering tasks affects the outcome predictability.
Can I share the generated task assignments?
Yes, once you click 'Assign Randomly', a 'Share Assignments' button will appear. You can quickly copy the task ledger and paste it directly into an email or messaging app.
